Glenbrook Neighborhood Clean-up & Swap, Saturday, October 18, 2014

The 2014 Fall GNA Clean-up and swap was a big success. Volunteers of all ages joined us for this important and enjoyable community event. 42 individuals signed in to swap, shred and help out...and we received four new memberships and a few contributions in our donation box. Special thank you to Grade A Market, Donut Delight and City Carting for their generous donations.

Quarterly Meeting, Wednesday, September 17, 2014

Seventy nine people were in attendance. Special guest, Ernie Orgera, Director of Operations for the City of Stamford, spoke about the new Stamford Street Smarts Initiative, a campaign focused on improving pedestrian, driver and cyclist safety and awareness throughout the city of Stamford being led by Mayor Martin, in collaboration with the Police Department, Operations Department, Stamford Public Schools, and community organizations. Residents made Ernie aware of safety trouble spots throughout Glenbrook and there was a debrief with him about the Crescent Street project. Elected officials, community leaders and candidates in the November elections for local and state offices introduced themselves. There was a progress report on the Historic Resources Survey and news about the final public meeting for Transit Oriented Development study.

Spring Cleanup and Swap, Saturday, May 10, 2014

Many thanks to all who showed up this year. Volunteers made a big difference by cleaning up the Liberty Garden in the train station parking lot. There are also new plantings all around Glenbrook. Trash was picked up behind Happy House and along Glenbrook Road, Scofield Avenue and all over Northrop field. Special thank you to Donut Delight, Tommy K. and Grade A for the edible and drinkable donations.
